Origionally, I was not going to do a post about my homemade pizza. It’s nothing special.
I follow the directions and add my favorite toppings.
But I got a positive response of Facebook and Insagram that I’ve decided to share it with you.
You may think that it’s easier to get a frozen pizza or just call the guys down the street, but making your own is fast and easy and when you get the family involved, everyone is happy!
I follow the directions on the little 3 pack of Fleischmann’s Pizza Crust Yeast.
1-3/4 to 2-1/2 cups flour
1 envelope of yeast
1-1/2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup warm water (120 – 130 deg)
3 tablespoons oil
toppings of your choice
Here’s what you Do
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Mix 1 cup of the flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl. Add the warm water and oil and mix with a paddle attachment for 1 minute. Change the paddle to the dough hook and add 1/2 cup flour at a time to the mixture until a dough ball forms. I ended up using 1-3/4 cup flour. Let the dough hook kneed the dough for 4 minutes. Remove from you bowl and slowly stretch the dough ball out allowing gravity to pull the dough as your hold the top. Slowly work your way around the disk being careful not to get a hole in the dough.
I place it on a 14 inch pizza pan and continue to press and stretch the dough out. I used 3 – 4 tablespoons of Furmano’s Crushed Tomatoes with Rosted Garlic and Olive Oil for the sauce. I added Turkey Pepperoni, Bacon, and crumbled Sweet Italian Sausage. (We’re meat lovers in this household.) Then I added some Mozzarella, Parmigiana, Romano, and Asiago cheese. I like the blend of the cheese.
Here’s the fun part. You can divide the dough into 2, 3, or 4 parts and make mini pizzas for each person. Make a veggie pizza, a cheeseburger pizza, a cheese ONLY pizza. If you go this route, you’ll end up needing more toppings ready to go, but you can figure that all out.
Bake it for 12 -15 minutes watching for it not to burn. Let it sit for a few minutes on a wooden cutting board and then slice into it!
Let it cool and enjoy!
It’s also great the next day as leftovers!
