    Orange Juice and Campari Popsicles

With summer right around the corner, most of us are looking for something sweet and cold to partake in. Well my friends, I have something so yummy for you to try. Don’t worry, this isn’t another popsicle recipe for the kids. This is for the adults of the household. Introducing my favorite way to get my Vitamin C in – Orange Juice and  Campari Popsicles.

These popsicles don’t require many ingredients. The only requirement is that you’re sitting back and relaxing on your back porch or by the pool as you enjoy them. You’ll love the sweet flavor of the pops that are put together in no time. If you’re excited to try something new this summer, then let’s dive into this recipe.

    What is Campari?

Have you heard of ordering a Negroni as an aperitif? Maybe an Americano? If so, then I’m sure that you have heard of Campari.

However, if you don’t know what that is, it’s simple. Campari is a very popular spirit that is made up of bitter orange mixed with various spices. I would describe it as sweet orange upfront, but then closes out with a harsh, bitter orange flavor at the end. Needless to say, Campari is best served with a mixer like Orange Juice,  Club Soda, Gin, or even just a splash of water.

Invest in Good Ice Pop Molds

I’m not going to lie, but you do want to invest in a few decent popsicle molds for your future popsicles. When you have good molds, you have a better chance of your popsicles turning out great.

    Keep Watching the Syrup

Another secret I have in making these Orange Juice and Campari Popsicles is to keep an eye on the simple syrup you’re making. It’s so easy to walk away from the stove when you’re cooking. I know it’s hard, but stay put! You’ll have a better chance of your pops turning out to be perfect if you’re patient and watch the concoction cook.

    How to Make Ice Pops

For some of you, learning how to make an alcoholic popsicle recipe is going to open a whole new world for you. After you learn how to make these popsicles, you’ll be able to add what you want. Here is a basic tutorial on how to make ice pops.

Make a simple syrup: you’ll want to combine the sugar and ⅔ cup water in a saucepan and bring to a bowl.

Go ahead and remove from heat and stir to dissolve the sugar. Let cool.

In a pitcher combine the simple syrup, orange juice, Campari, and lemon juice.

Pour mixture into ice pop molds, add pop sticks and freeze until set, at least 8 hours.

The really cool thing about this recipe is you can change things up as you see fit. Since these are alcoholic ice pops, you can leave the alcohol out and make a virgin version.

The kids are going to LOVE learning how to make non-alcoholic ice pops too. Spend some time experimenting and have fun with it.
