These are “cheater” donuts again. I used a cake mix to make them.  Last time I made “cheater” donuts I used a muffin mix. What’s the difference anyway? My taste buds weren’t complaining.

I think it’s a great alternative especially if you don’t have the time to make donuts from scratch.

My daughter loved these donuts. She shared them with her friends and they all thought I was a complete and total genius. I mean, they already knew I was, so it was just another normal day here in my house of {Awesomeness}!

I know that if you pick your favorite cake and may your kids some cake donuts, you may never make cupcakes again.

Ok, you will make cupcakes again, but you’ll be thinking that the donuts are easier.

    Additional Time 30 minutes
    Total Time 50 minutes

    Ingredients

    • 1 box Pillsbury Pink Lemonade Cake + ingredients on box
    • 1 container Pillsbury Pink Lemonade Frosting
    • Sprinkles
    • Neon Pink Food Color if desired

    Instructions

      1. Preheat oven to 350 deg F.
      2. Make Box mix according to instructions.
      3. Lightly spray the donut pan with PAM and add batter to the pan. *Tip – place 1/4 of the batter in a quart-size baggie and squeeze it into the pan.
      4. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes and cool on a wire wrack.
      5. Once donuts are cooled, place half the container of frosting into a microwave-safe bowl and melt at 70% power for 30 seconds. Stir and heat again if necessary.
      6. Dip donut into the melted frosting and add sprinkles to decorate.
      7. For the dark pink stripes, I used McCormick Neon Pink Food Color to darken the melted frosting, then I decorated the donut.
