Strawberry Lemon Checkerboard Cake

    This Checkerboard Cake features a fruity strawberry and lemon taste with a frosting. It is a fun cake for occasions like birthdays, or children’s parties.

    Then I made a double-decker Strawberry Lemon Checkerboard Cake. It has a 6-inch strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting and a 6-inch lemon cake with lemon frosting.

    I used 4 inch and 2 inch biscuit cutters to cut circles then rearrange them with alternating colors. I colored the cream cheese frosting pink and added a 1/4 teaspoon of strawberry extract.

    I used some of the lemon frosting to crumb coat the sides of the cake then used an open tip to pipe on a design. It’s so easy yet this little cake makes a big impression!
