It’s my first recipe of the New Year and I’m kicking it off with this quick and easy, sweet and salty popcorn made from the new “Party Popcorn” book written by my blogging friend, Ashton. Ashton is the blogger, author, and photographer at Something Swanky and her new book, Party Popcorn: 75 Creative Recipes for Everyones Favorite Snack is available to purchase on Amazon.
Everyone loves popcorn for snacking on. We make it quite often for movie night and sleepover parties. I love using my Whirley-Pop Stovetop Popcorn Popper to make a big batch. It pops 99% of the kernels and the popcorn is always delicious.
We are preferable to basic popcorn with just salt. No butter or seasoning, just plain ‘ol popped popcorn. It’s a special occasion to make “fun” popcorn. My daughter had some friends over and I asked them to pick out their favorite fun popcorn for me to make and for them to eat!
The girls picked the “quick marshmallow mix popcorn”. I was surprised they didn’t go for the “turtle brownie” or the “heavenly hash” or even the “chocolate covered pretzel popcorn”. There are 75 different fun popcorn recipes in this book! They range from sweet to savory and they all sound great for a Sunday football game snack!
I can see this fun mix on the table with team colored M&M’s mixed in. I know you want some – so DIG IN!
Want your own copy of the book and a Whirly Pop Popper? Ashton is giving away the book and I’m throwing in the popper (or $20 Amazon Gift Card if you already have a favorite popper).
Pop your popcorn in your Whirly Pop Popper and transfer to a large bowl. Toss in the mini marshmallows and cashews then pour the melted butter over. Mix together and then sprinkle the M&M’s over and add salt to taste.
