    Ingredients

    For the Pancakes

    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
    • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 3 teaspoons baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 large egg
    • ¾ cup milk or buttermilk
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
    • 1-2 tablespoons red food coloring

    For the Cream Cheese Drizzle

    • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
    • ½ cup powdered sugar
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 2-4 tablespoons milk

    Instructions

    Cream Cheese Drizzle

    1. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
    2. Beat in milk a little at a time until desired consistency.
    3. Set aside.


    For the Pancakes

    1. Preheat griddle to 350 degrees F .
    2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
    3. In a large measuring cup, measure milk, then whisk in egg and oil.
    4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix just until moistened.
    5. Add food coloring until the desired color is achieved.
    6. Spray griddle with non-stick cooking spray.
    7. Divide pancake batter onto griddle and cook 4-5 minutes or until edges are set and pancake starts to bubble on top.
    8. Flip and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes.
    9. Remove onto a serving platter and serve with cream cheese drizzle.
