What is Strawberry Coconut Panna?

Honestly, Panna is an impressive looking dessert, but it’s not at all that hard to make. From afar, it may look fancy and like something you’d need to spend making all day. Don’t worry because it’s not. In no time, you’ll be impressing yourself and those guests of yours with your Panna dessert.

Panna is simply a work in Italian that means “cream.” You can imagine where we’re going with this. The Panna is usually the cream that is scraped off the top of milk. There are many different recipes out there that will help you make the ultimate Panna. Have no fear because I’ll walk you through each and every step!

Panna Ingredients

Now that you know you want to make panna, you may be wondering how you go about doing this. As I said, there are many different recipes out there, but you need to choose one that works best for you. I like my Panna recipe because it’s simple to follow.

Gelatin- a very important ingredient in this dessert is the gelatin. If you’re unsure of what gelatin is…let me explain: “Gelatin or gelatine is a translucent, colorless, flavorless food ingredient, derived from collagen taken from animal body parts. It is brittle when dry and gummy when moist.” (source)

The gelatin will help make the panna cotta consistency set. When all is said and done, this dessert will have a custard-like consistency. Gelatin really does help bring this layered jello dessert to life.

Light Coconut Milk – if you have ever had panna cotta, then you know it’s not a super heavy dessert. I’ve chosen to use light coconut milk to help make this. Coconut milk isn’t as heavy in calories and fat, and it makes for a nice panna cotta. If you’ve never used coconut milk before you really need to give it a try!

I’m not going to name all of the ingredients, but you get a general idea. There are three parts to this recipe. The gelatin part, the panna cotta recipe, and the strawberries. Each part of the recipe works together to help make the most delicious panna cotta ever!

Can You Freeze Panna Cotta?

After you make this delicious recipe, you may be wondering if you can freeze it. Do you want to hear the good news? Yes, you can freeze it! If you want to unfreeze it, you’ll want to place it in the fridge. Doing this will allow the panna cotta recipe to unfreeze in a safe place for you to enjoy it the next day.
