Chocolate Chip Cookie Popcorn
I love flavored popcorn. It’s so easy and takes no time at all. Everyone usually loves it. At least, no one complains about it… It’s fun to come up with combinations of flavors and mix-ins, so when I accidentally burned a batch of chocolate chip cookies, I almost threw them away. But then I had a better idea – use them for movie night and make a batch of chocolate chip cookie popcorn!

Ingredients
- 1/3 Cup unpopped Popcorn
- 1 Cup melted White Chocolate or Candy Melts
- 1/3 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 to 1 Cup Chocolate Chip Cookie Pieces
- Salt
Instructions
- Melt White Chocolate chips or Candy Melts in microwave safe bowl. Melt in 30 second increments at 70% power stirring often to prevent overheating.
- Pop popcorn on the stove top. 1/3 cup should pop up to 3 to 4 cups of popcorn.
- Working quickly, pour white chocolate over popcorn, sprinkle a handful of cookie crumbs and the mini chocolate chip over the popcorn. Stir together until popcorn is coated.
- Pour out onto a cookie sheet and add more cookie crumbs and mini chips as desired. Sprinkle with Salt and allow chocolate coating to harden.
- Serve in small bowls, turn on a movie, and enjoy!
As I was saying, the other day I was making a simple batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies. No biggie. Nothing special. I just wanted to get them made and done. So I placed two cookie sheets in the oven at the same time. I guess I have extra-wide cookie sheets because two pans will not fit side by side on the same shelf… One pan had to go on the bottom rack.
It’s too bad that I have a gas oven and the cookies on the lower rack got completely BURNED on the bottom. The tops were beautiful, but the bottoms were ruined!
So, instead of throwing away the tray of cookies, I cut the bottoms off and saved the tops. I figured I could sprinkle it on some ice cream later. I didn’t have a plan, I just was determined not to waste it. But then in a moment of clarity, I decided to make Cookie Popcorn!
Genius!
I popped some corn in my stove top popper, melted some white chocolate, tossed the popcorn, candy, mini chocolate chips and cookie chunks together.
Yum!
Cookies and Popcorn! Now all I need is a great movie and two hours to actually sit and watch it!
Have you seen a good movie recently? I’m always looking for suggestions – Thanks!
