Welcome to 2018! Wow! We are off and running this week , but only because we are trying to stay warm. I live in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia where we have been blasted with this arctic cold for the past several days. It’s been bitterly cold and I really, really HATE it. I keep look at photos of my trip to Hawaii and longing for the warm breezes and ocean waves. Instead, I am bundled up like an Eskimo and dreading going outside. For most people the start of a new year is also the start of new habits and goal setting. I say Bah, humbug to resolutions that are just no fun. Yes, I’m still going to gym while eating my weight in cookies and wondering why my scale won’t budge. Anyway, I suggest you just say NO to diet resolutions for the new year, so here’s some awesome treats to keep you busy in the kitchen baking.
Just say No to Diet Resolutions for the New Year
- Cookie Dough Billionaire Bars from That Skinny Chick Can Bake
- Confetti Cake Ice Cream Cookie Cups from Chef Next Door
- Delicate Chocolate Cake “Spartak” from Munchkin Time
- Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies from Try Anything Once Culinary
- Lemon Olive Oil Cake from Cookie Dough Oven Mitt
- Mocha Nanaimo Bars from The Bewitchin Kitchen
- Double Chocolate Mousse Parfaits from Giggles Galore
- Salted Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls from Chef Next Door Blog
- Sea Salt Caramel Bars from Food, Fun, Family
I know you want MORE snacks to make for these cold nights! Why not try this Strawberry Buttermilk Skillet Cake. It bakes while you’re eating dinner!
Or bake up some Blueberry Muffins that have a hint of lemon. They are perfect for breakfast and a mid-afternoon snack.
Are you enjoying an evening hot chocolate with the family? Try making some homemade marshmallows. Once you have homemade, you never want to go back to bagged marshmallows.
