I love my husband!
My husband has a peanut butter “thing”. He loves the stuff.
Any sort of dessert that also includes peanut butter and that’s what he is getting!
In Ice Cream. In Pie. With Chocolate, of course! And in Cookies!
As a kid he grew up on PB sandwiches! JUST PB! No jelly, no honey, no nothin’!
So, when I came across Peanut Butter & Co. “Dark Chocolate Dreams” Peanut Butter, I knew I had to make something special for my hubby!
To make the cookies, you will need:
1 cup Chocolate Peanut Butter
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown Ssugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 bag chocolate and peanut butter chips (one bag – NOT one of each!)
Here’s what you do:
Preheat the oven to 375 deg F.
Mix the first 5 ingredients together until smooth. Add the flour and baking soda. Stir in the chips by hand.
I used my cookie scoop to measure out rounded tablespoons onto a cookie sheet and then pressed then down a little.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Allow them to sit for 1 to 2 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack. I got about +4 dozen cookies from this recipe.
After two days they got crunchy, so I placed a piece of bread in the container and they softened back up overnight!
I had a lot of fun on face book when I was making these cookies. I asked people to guess what they were to get a dozen of these mailed to them. I had over 70 guesses, but I was a stickler for a precise guess. My Sweetheart of a winner was, Ku’uipo! Her family loved them and they were all eaten the day they arrived!
BTW – Ku’uipo means “Sweetheart” in Hawaiian 🙂
To show my husband that I love him even more, I made some Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sandwiches!
I added CPB Ice Cream to my CPB cookies and then rolled them in chopped Reese PB cups.
He was in PB heaven!
Enjoy!
