Monkey Bread is great all year round! This Drunken Monkey Bread has the added kick of a little bit of Fireball Whisky added to the sugar glaze!
Drunken Monkey Bread
Have you ever had a sweet tooth but didn’t know how to satisfy that craving? Whenever I’m wanting something sweet, Drunken Monkey Bread is what I make. It’s ooey and gooey and everyone loves it! I’d be crazy if I didn’t tell you how addictive this stuff is! When I make it, I try to do it in several batches because it is that good!
I think the reason this is so popular, especially around the holidays, is that it is made using store-bought dough. While you can make monkey bread from scratch, I love making it with the tube dough from the store because it gets done quickly and I can have this deliciousness in my mouth even faster.
Around here, you will often see us eating Drunken Monkey Bread at any time of the year, but as I said, the holidays are the best time to enjoy this! Since this is Drunken Monkey Bread, you can have it for breakfast or a late-night snack. Of course, it’s the best consumed by adults, since it has some Fireball in it.
Taste of Monkey Bread
If you’ve never had Monkey Bread before, I wanted to talk to you about the taste. I’d say that this type of bread tastes like a delicious cinnamon roll. The way the dough cooks together and the way the flavor melts into the dough, there is just nothing else like it.
There is no doubt that you will be licking your fingers and wanting more. I make several of these over the year because everyone LOVES them! So, it’s important you know how delicious the taste of monkey bread is because everyone will enjoy it fully!
Overnight Breakfast Option
When you are looking for an awesome breakfast option, Drunken Monkey Bread makes for a great overnight breakfast option. I have many different Monkey Bread recipes available on my blog. You can choose one that you like and know that it’s an excellent breakfast option.
Put the Monkey Bread together the night before and then you can make it in the morning. Just let it sit on the counter for around 30 minutes, before you bake it in the oven. I love how easy Monkey Bread is to make and prepare, so you can enjoy it any time of the day!
Simple Recipe Using Tube Biscuits
With as many Monkey Bread recipes as there are out there, mine gets me the most excited. Do you want to know why? Because it’s a simple recipe using ready made biscuits in a tube. When I realized that I could make monkey bread from the already made dough, you best believe I was excited.
The holidays are super busy and sometimes you need to cut steps. Using already made dough allows you to create a yummy recipe that otherwise might take you more time. Don’t stress yourself out! You can have delicious desserts without spending a bunch of time doing it. Using tube biscuits is one way to make this dessert a reality!
How to Make Monkey Bread
You’ll want to preheat the oven to 350 degrees. While the oven is preheating, you should coat bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray and a dusting of flour.
Take the biscuits, open them up, and cut each biscuit into quarters. This part is fun!
Next, in a small bowl, combine white sugar and cinnamon, add to a large resealable bag
Add the dough to the bag and shake it very well. Once the dough is coated well, you’ll want to add coated pieces of dough to the pan.
If there is any sugar mixture left, you’ll want to sprinkle it over the biscuits.
Take another small bowl and combine melted butter and brown sugar. Proceed to pour this mixture over the biscuits.
The Drunken Monkey Bread should bake for around 30-40 minutes or until it is golden brown.
Allow it to cook in the pan for around 5 minutes and then you’ll turn it upside down onto a serving plate.
Go ahead and make the glaze with the Fireball Whisky then drizzle it over the baked monkey bread. P.S. this is the most delicious glaze you will ever have.
Conclusion
Drunken Monkey Bread is an indulgent breakfast or dessert option. It’s soft and so delectable! I also the way it looks and how you can just grab piece after piece and enjoy it!
